Doomed Limerick

In class, Tanya wanted to show us how the form of a poem could affect its content. She told us to write a Limerick, which is a humorous type of poems consisted of 5 lines. Limerick is also the name of an Irish city. However, I've no idea if the type of poems is originated from Ireland.

Here you go, the first poem that I've ever written in my life:

It's hard to tell if he has died,
As his body is dried.
At night the cat cries
And the dog wants to hide
No one answers the question "why?"

It's kind of childish, but I had so much fun writing it. Anyway, babies have to crawl before they can walk.
